This is really an adventure of a lifetime and one that will change our outlook on life for evermore so we want to keep you up to date and fully informed on all our preparations and progress as we get ready to drive around the world. So what is the best way to join us on this global expedition.
Patreon or other membership sites have always created mixed feelings with us as we want to make TREAD the Globe available to everyone not just those that become members. After all membership costs money right.
The reality is that we also do not have the time to create membership only content as we already film and produce 2 or 3 videos a week and each video takes around 8 hours to make without taking into consideration the time and planning it takes to film the content and to actually travel. Don’t get me wrong we LOVE doing it, we just can’t give the time to do more. We therefore hope that those of you who do decided to join the TREAD Tribe do so because you are part of it and want to genuinely help and support us. We will talk much more about finances in future posts and videos but we do anticipate that this adventure is going to cost in the region of £40,000 and although we get income from our house rental each month, looking ahead, we still need to try and generate some form of additional income.
We have had lots of discussions about how we can get you to be involved so much so that you can actually choose what we do and see on the way, via polls. We also want to do regular live chats, of course subject to having some form of internet connection.
And so the TREAD Tribe was born
We are currently in the process of setting up and planning what this involves but will be the most interactive way to influence our choices as we drive around the world. More details to follow soon.
SOCIAL MEDIA SITES
We post regular pictures and updates on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, so you can see exactly what we’re up to – the good the bad and the ugly ! We aim to respond to every comment that you post.
YouTube is where we post all of the videos showing our adventures and is the best way for you to really feel like you are with us. In fact we have already posted over 200 travel videos. If you haven’t seen them then grab a drink and have a binge session.
We always feel that a video brings things to life in a way that pictures and blog posts can’t and so we are aiming to share all of the planning, preparations and adventure with you. Sometimes things won’t go according to plan and no doubt this adventure is going to challenge us in ways that we have never been challenged before, but with your support and encouragement we WILL make it.
As we start the preparations and spend the rest of 2019 in and around the UK, then we will be also sharing videos on our ‘Vanlife’ experiences, tips and what it is like to live full time on the road. All of the videos will be made public on YouTube for all of you to see.
Every Sunday we send out a weekly newsletter via email. The newsletter keeps you up to date with what we have been up to that week and what our plans are for the following week. We also share a ‘Tip of the Week” and is a great way to hear our plans firsthand. You’ll also be notified when we post a blog post such as our monthly finances. It’s free to sign up all you need to do is enter your name and email address.
Don’t worry we don’t share your email address and won’t bombard you with emails. You can of course also unsubscribe at any time although we’re sure you won’t want to do that !
We love to actually meet up with you and share some stories face to face. Over the coming months we will be arranging a number of meet ups in the UK – for example we will be at the NEC Motorhome & Caravan Show this October and will be arranging a meet up.
If you want to meet up with us whilst we are in the UK then let us know we will try and arrange a few in different parts of the county.
Of course we want to meet up with as many of you as we can as we drive around the world and if you see that we are heading your way and want to show us your local sights or join us for some local food then message us directly – we’d love to come and see you.
